Time my xbox 360 version of Origins shat itself and died horribly, so now I've got it on PC. Does anyone have any mods that they would seriously recommend?

Extra Dog Slot Best Dragon Age Origins ModsWant to bring your dog with you but don’t want to sacrifice another party member such as Wynne or Sten? The mod will solve this problem for you. This mod turns your summon slot into a spot for your dog, with full control as if it were a normal party member.That means you can take full advantage of his skills, while also interacting with him normally. You can send him away if you don’t need him, but a new Dog Whistle Item will let you call him back whenever you like. Assassin Armor and RapiersThere are quite a few armors available to players in Dragon Age: Origins, but not many are as sleek looking as players’s would like. It’s difficult to look exceptionally badass when playing as a Rogue, so the mod helps out.The mod includes leather armor for human’s only.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with other races. It also includes a set of Rapiers. Unlike standard swords, these are programmed as longer daggers, meaning they don’t rely on your strength stat. Instead, they rely on your dexterity.Do note that you need to grab these items before the siege chapter. They were made for a new game, and you can miss the chest (located in the treasury room) that holds them. Lock BashHaving to invest in lock-picking skills can be a real pain. With all of your weaponry and spells, you should be able to open up anything in your way.

The mod helps to make that happen. Players will now be able to break open locks and bash through doors in Dragon Age Origins.The ability relies on your primary stat. The higher it is, the better your chance at bashing the lock and not breaking any items that may be in a chest. Also, this mod makes it so that you can order others to open a lock for you if they already have a skill.

The added bonus of not having to constantly switch between characters is much appreciated. Any budding rogue would kill to get their hands on this armor. Corrupted Warden ArmorThis sick looking armor set has been corrupted by the Fade. It sports a possessed look as well as several bonuses to the player. It does have a risk, though. Wearing this set is a risk to the character’s willpower, so keep that in mind. Making it a bit more special is the fact that it can be worn by anyone regardless of race, class, or gender.set includes:.

Some recommend a vanilla first playthrough, as you can imagine.As a result, I am going to recommend as few mods as possible (but will say which change things that some might not like). All the mods I list should be compatible.

If I don't link them, you can find them in the Dragon Age Origins Mod List from the sidebar, linked. I will get close enough to the name that you should be able to just ctrl+F the name.First, I recommend following installation guide, though not installing the mods they mention. If you prefer Nexus Mod Manager, you can look.So I recommend you grab whatever create a character mods you want, that is a largely personal thing. If you don't want any, that's cool, but the mod list has some under 'Create A Character Enhancement' and 'Headmorphs/Presets'.

If you take any of those, don't forget to run (Is in the mod list, just figured I would link here). I say these first so you don't forget them and they often don't change much.I also recommend picking up Two Spec Sten, Morrigan Restoration Patch, Zevran Dialogue Fix, Dialogue Tweaks, and Advanced Tactics. All of these are under Game Fixes.

You can pick up the others if you want, those I feel are the more important ones though.I also recommend the Extra Dog Slot mod, as I personally don't think it breaks balance much and the Dog is often not used in a party otherwise. This does change the game though (in that the game is not meant to have a fourth companion in combat), so it is up to you.Since you have the Ultimate Edition, I don't think that the mods giving you a chest to keep things in at your camp will change much for you, but it is an option.Now to changing how the game looks. For general textures I recommend over JB3, though some people prefer JB. Theta and JB generally just improve the noticeably bad textures, and up the quality on some of the others.I also sometimes recommend, though I know that one is not for everyone. I recommend this over some others as it just adds detail without changing anything else.

It is definitely not for everyone though as some do look more sickly than others (see pictures on the Nexus). Note: If you use this, since the face textures and bald head textures end and start as if a character had a normal hairline, this mod can leave people with a line where the texture becomes noticeably different and can be annoying.The common ones to recommend here are Improved Atmosphere and Dragon Age Redesigned as well as some of the character look changes. These are not bad mods and you might want to pick them up, but they do change some things that might not be friendly to the lore. So I would look at them and skim what they change (cannot remember if it has spoilers in that section though) and decide for yourself.Sorry for the wall of text. Hope this is helpful.
