Apr 28, 2009  The biggest problem I'm having (and this could be a show-stopper for using 3ds Max on Mac), is that my Max license keeps getting corrupted by boot camp. I talked to Autodesk support and they say this is because boot camp significantly alters the boot disk on start up (probably when switching between OSX and Windows). Tracyscott, Tom AromaI hope you took a second and went to Strata’s home page. I use Strata D3D which is their professional version of this free software. I downloaded this just to see what and why Strata would be giving away their software. I was extremely pleased to see they are giving basically the entire program away for freewell, Version 8 of D3D is like an entire rebuild with sweet new features I never seen coming, but seriously, give this a shot.

Gogetalife, Fantastic app and superior customer serviceAs a professional in the computer industry and as a amateur creator of 3-D illustrations, Strata Design 3D SE 7 has fulfilled my needs perfectly. I create three-dimensional models for use in illustrations once or twice a month and needed a program that could create professional looking 3-D illustrations with a minimum of learning curve. I have been using this program for two days now and several times could not figure out how to accomplish a particular task my way. After impatiently searching through the documentation I use their customer service e-mail to ask how to accomplish the task.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive concise, well written, and polite E-mail responses within a hour of each request that completely answered my questions. The completeness of the functionality and the superior customer service had earned Strata Design 3D SE 7 a five star rating. There's obviously some sort of hardware incompatibility which is kind of suprising since, unlike the Windows environment, there aren't thousands of hardware configurations which need to be compatible. So, if my iMac, which isn't all that old and has a decent amount of horsepower, can't run it, then it's not much use. It's straight to the trash file and will be forgotten.
